Refworks

refworksRefworks is proving to be pretty awesome.  I’m not quite sure about the exporting or quick viewing of the notes added for anygiven article yet.  It may be that I will still need to maintain a document with notes and noteworthy quotes as I read articles.  Process notes for optimal usage:

  1. Fire up KSU VPN
  2. refworks.com
  3. login
  4. import via online catalog (princeton seems to work pretty well)

I’m unaware what it takes for a university to appear in the list.  Perhaps the list is of universities that receive free accounts for access to their personal lists, perhaps its a list of founding contributors.  I’m surprised that this isn’t an open source movement.  I wonder if Google has something comparable in the works.
